So your daughter is wants to have a different kind of birthday party this year. She's a vocal girl who likes to sing. Appropriately, throw her a karaoke birthday party! Planning it is not as difficult as it may seem.
First, you'll need to put together a plan. Since it's her birthday, some kind of a karaoke birthday gift would make her smile and sing with delight. As a gift, try the American Idol Karaoke packs for Playstation systems found at Best Buy and other electronic stores.
Invitations are easy to come by. Check your local party stores for musical themed invitations. If you prefer to print your own, search online for invitations that relate to the karaoke party. Jukebox images are perfect. To add a bit more pizzazz to your party, maybe create an American Idol themed invitation inviting your guests to come to the nearest karaoke audition held at your address. If the invitations are the least of your worries for the party, put together a simple invite with some music notes and staffs printed on it.
In order to have a karaoke party, you need to have a karaoke set up. Go shopping! You don't have to have a real expensive system to have a great time as most nowadays are capable of being hooked up to the TV using RCA color jacks. Several come with wireless microphones as well. If you purchase a wireless microphone system, be creative and stop in at your local Guitar Center and pick up a microphone stand as well. These run for about $20.
You'll also want to designate an area for karaoke performances. Depending on how much time is available and time you want to put into the party, building a stage only requires a trip to your local Home Depot. You'll need a few sheets of sturdy plywood and some 2x4 beams to support the stage. Be sure to use long nails to ensure that it is securely fastened. If you do not have the room nor time to build a small stage, a large throw rug will do just fine. If you prefer to build a stage, you can either place a throw rug upon it or paint it a color of your choosing. White and silver make the best stage colors for a children's party.
